Elizabeth Lunn

Elizabeth LunnI am a native North Carolinian and was born in Wilson. I went to UNC – Chapel Hill and earned a BA in Psychology before attending T.C. Williams School of Law in Richmond, Virginia. After law school I spent some time practicing family law before joining the staff at Legal Aid of North Carolina. While at Legal Aid, I helped clients in a variety of cases, including Medicaid, landlord-tenant, child custody and domestic violence issues.

After spending five years at Legal Aid, I spent several years at a firm that focused on representing people trying to obtain Social Security disability benefits. I am now managing my own firm and helping clients with their Social Security and Veterans benefits claims.

I am licensed in all courts in North Carolina as well as all three Federal District Courts in North Carolina. The Department of Veterans Affairs has accredited me as a representative and I am admitted to the Court of Veterans Appeals. I have served as the technology chair for the Disability Advocacy Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and I give several continuing education presentations to other attorneys each year.

Most importantly, I know what my clients are going through. I have been through the disability process with my husband and I know first-hand how long and frustrating the process can be. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and occasionally I find time to quilt and read.
